TINA FEY
Do these little ones know how to coordinate or what?
First funny woman Tina Fey gave birth on August 10th to her second daughter, Penelope Athena, with composer hubby Jeff Richmond. Next comes the news that Fantastic Four actress Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren have also added another girl, Haven Garner, to their household, along with 3-year-old Honor Marie. Mommyhood is in the air, for sure!
However, the news we are really SUPER excited about is Hilary Duff's baby news! That's right, Lizzie McGuire is no longer worrying about being "Best Dressed" in the yearbook or dreading the embarassment of buying her first bra! Now she has more grown-up issues to tackle.
So not funny! Reports claim that actor/comedian Tracy Morgan was booed and bashed after a stand-up routine in Nashville, Friday 06/03/11 went out of hand. Comedy patrons were not prepared for the hateful tirade, whether or not he's joking, the 30 Rock star was spewing out against the LGBT community.
Unfortunately, not all members who witnessed the fiasco were disturbed. In fact, they actually followed up his insults with cheers, audience member Kevin Rogers (from Truth Wins Out) says. Alas, this is not-so-liberal Tennessee.
Baldwin who plays Jack Donaghy in 30 Rock declared to the NY Magazine's Vulture blog on Tuesday that the Emmy-winning comedy would end in 2012.
"I will tell you one thing, and that is our show next year is our last year of the show. Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina [Fey] is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great."
Alec Baldwin also announced that 2012 would be his last year as an actor. But before he retires definitively from the movie business, he will star in the adaptation of the Broadway hit Rock of Ages.
High Notes
Lea Michele of Glee looked stunning in a shimmering white Oscar de la Renta gown, belted in gold at the waist. The best part of her look was her bed-head Goldie-Hawn-esque hair. Very sex kitten. Lea’s cast mate, Heather Morris, looked sweet and innocent in a nude Romona Keveza princess-styled dress with jeweled accents on the bodice and a jeweled belt. Fellow Glee cast mate Jenna Ushkowitz opted for a gold-toned mermaid-shaped Badgley Mischa dress and rocked out her curves. The vertical ruffles were a little junior, but it was wonderful to see her out of character and in something with some sex appeal. Diana Agron (swoon) in a belted navy and black couture Chanel tea-length dress looked exquisite. She is way hotter in real life than she is on the show – that cheerleader outfit does not do her justice. Amber Riley looked hip in an Old Hollywood throwback Anne Barge gown.
No second takes and no messing up. NBC's 30 Rock will be taking a daring step by taping a live broadcast of their show Thursday night. With Tina Fey leading the cast its no surprise that 30 Rock would be the very first show to take on such a challenge.
Goofing off by some cast members would be some hilarious improvisation, but let's hope the network has checked the weather. A thunderstorm with an end all lights out would be Lemon's worst nightmare.
Tina Fey has quite the honor coming her way, The Kennedy Center Honor that is. The “30 Rock” star will be receiving the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The actress can add yet another award to her shelf at The Kennedy Center Honors that will be held on November 9 at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Past recipients of this honor include Steve Martin and Bill Cosby. Fey was very humble when hearing the news, "I am truly thrilled to
Sarah Palin took a seat on Jay Leno's couch Tuesday night to chat and giggle and all that other nonsense guests do on late-night talk shows. Once the two were done catching up, Leno announced that Palin was going to make her "comedy debut" (apparently SNL doesn't count). The former Governor of Alaska took to the stage and performed a pretty decent stand-up routine. She joked about the things you'd expect: Alaska (it's so cold there it's "5 degrees below Congress' approval rating"), not being the vice president ("I would not know what to do with all that free time), and of course, Tina Fey ("I have been really busy, I've picked up a gig in Las Vegas, at the Legends show, playing Tina Fey.")
The Hollywood Reporter found out Adam Shankman, producer and director of hit movie musical Hairspray, has come on board to develop and produce Columbia Picture’s planned remake of Bye Bye Birdie. While less provocative than his most recent project, “Prop 8: The Musical,” Birdie is a classic musical that is fun for all ages.
Birdie centers on Conrad Birdie, a popular singer a la Elvis Presley. Just before he is shipped off to the army, he agrees to one last encounter with a fan before he goes to war, all for a little extra publicity. Columbia has been developing the update for several years, even re-imagining the title character as a hip-hop star.
Tina Fey capped her year off by being named Associated Press' Entertainer of the Year. The 38-year-old NBC star was selected by newspaper editors and broadcast producers as the performer who had the greatest impact on culture and entertainment in 2008. Fey beat Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. and Heath Ledger, who wowed audiences with his performance in The Dark Knight after his untimely death. Fey entertained the world with her Sarah Palin impression in multiple guest spots on Satrday Night Live. She told the Associated Press her first reaction to Palin, recounting how she thought, 'Well, I kinda do look like her. I'd better really listen to how this lady talks.'
Tina Fey sizzles in the pages of Vanity Fair this January. The self-deprecating Fey reveals she was a virgin until the age of 25 and admits to losing 30 pounds and "fixing her hair" to turn herself into the sexy Sarah Palin impersonator who revitalized America's funny bone. After seeing herself on SNL, Fey says she thought she looked unhealthy and behemoth-like, and strove to become PBS pretty. Pretty for a smart writer. Fey made the transition using Weight Watchers.
Fey has also recently come clean about a seldom-seen scar on her left cheek - a mark left over from a random slashing incident that occurred when she was just five years old in the front lawn of her Philadelphia home.
