TONI FRANCESC
I could easily be repetitive and long-winded in describing, look-by-look and theme-by-theme, Toni Francesc' Fall 2010 bevy, but I would rather not. Instead, I'll opt to note what I learned during the dry, morbid and what seemed to be the longest runway show I've ever attended.
- Three years after Balenciaga's most prized bevy, designers believe consumers still want to look and move about as robots.
- Taking apart your phone or computer and pasting its components on a leather bag is sooo much cooler than any Hermes bag.
- Massive and clunky biker boots can be forced to be worn with everything. Even a depressing gown.
- Balmain was noted for beginning the strong shoulder trend, but what designer will ruin end it?
- Also, how many different ways can a designer show strong shoulders?
- One more - How high is too high when it comes to shoulders?
- A collection full of brown and black - occasionally greys - isn't totally weird at all.
- Color-blocking can save any collection.
- When will cascade overlays actually get noticed? Despite the fact that they're extremely cool and that a lot of designers are producing them, no one is taking any notice. Except for us, of course.
