What do Tory Burch and Tyra Banks both have in common, aside from being mega fashion icons? They are the latest fashion industry celebrities to branch out their brands into beauty by launching fragrances!
New York City-based designer Tory Burch was rumored early this year to have been in talks with Estée Lauder in regard to launching her own fragrance. But it is hearsay no more since Tory Burch officially announced she will be partnering with Aramis Designer Fragrances, a division of the Estée Lauder Companies that also developed fragrances for Michael Kors, Coach, and DKNY, to put out her own scent. Tory Burch's venture into beauty may be news to us, but she assures, "For me, beauty was part of the plan since the beginning, especially fragrance." Burch's fragrance will hit shelves in 2013.
In what is quite possibly the most anticipated store opening of the year, C. Wonder is officially open. The seriously bright and cheerful spot, developed by Chris Burch (Tory's ex-husband), is offering up the cutest home goods, house wares, clothes and accessories for surprisingly reasonable prices.
And while we haven't been inside yet, this Joonbug reporter happens to exercise right above the store and as literally been monitoring their Spring Street facelift for weeks. From the glimpse through their skylight, we know for certain that C. Wonder is already on top of our list for a shopping trip this weekend and many others to come.
What’s better than shopping your favorite brands, locally, in the city? Shopping your favorite brands at a brand spanking new retail space, of course! We’ve rounded up details on the latest new ventures, each bringing their own unique flair to various Manhattan neighborhoods. Crisp and clean, fresh and new, we guarantee these stores to be worth the trek around town.
Lacoste, a brand synonymous with preppy chic, brings their niche to a new market with a brand new store opening in Soho mall. The 4,700 square-foot space opened this past weekend featuring men’s, women’s, and children’s lines and the most extensive footwear assortment in the country. The “Croc’s new look downtown” is slightly less institutional and a bit more historical behind the cast iron fronted location. Colorful contemporary collections and accessories are plentiful; a 180-degree turnaround from the Footlocker that previously occupied the address. Located on one of the most trafficked streets in New York, the newest venture is expected to rank among the brand’s highest-grossing stores per square foot. The streamlined shopping experience at Lacoste remains and despite our appreciation, we’ve concluded OCD must be a requirement to work there.

Any day you can get Tory Burch shoes for less than $100 is a good day. Grab these lace up esapdrilles for a measly $99! Regularly $165, now 40% off. Pssst size 8 is still available! Get on it. From Bergdorf Goodman:
I love Tory Burch ballerina flats as much as the next person. However, with so many ballerina-style flats on the market, they've got a girl wanting something different --some variety! I guess we can call it "ballet burn-out." As much as we love shoes, we can only have so many pairs/colors of the same style. Frankly, we're bored.
On a mission for originality, we went looking for the most stylish, unique flats we could find. It's not as easy as you would think! Stores are so flooded with ballerina styles, I don't think they realize there are other kinds of flats out there. We're glad the oxford trend is here, as designers are picking up on it and giving us more flat options (woo-hoo!). So move over (for now) stilettos and ballerinas, there are new styles in town!

Considering the Northeast had one of its worst winters in decades, I'm more happy than ever to break out my spring/summer clothes. In fact, I've never been so happy to see my circa '03 denim cut-offs. Ever. As a native Californian, my first winter in NYC was brutal and had me asking myself repeatedly, "Why did I leave California for this?" Now that the weather is warming up, I remember why: rooftop parties. The Hamptons. Cape Cod. Sailing. Pool parties. 8pm sunsets.Suddenly, the hideous memories of slopping around in 4 feet of soot-covered,snow and living in a wool coat for 6 months started to fade away.
