TREATS TRUCK
Tickets are now available for Bon Appétit’s three day, pub-inspired grub crawl through Brooklyn. During the first weekend in June, grub enthusiasts will have a chance to get up close and personal with Brooklyn’s most buzz-worthy chefs. Eat and drink your way through three Brooklyn neighborhoods while taking a peek inside the kitchens that have create the delicious foods that have put the borough on the culinary hotspot map. On Saturday night, stick around after the food stops for a concert and DJ performance at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory starting at 9 p.m.
Vendr.tv, a podcast and website "covering the best of the best curbside cuisine the world has to offer," launched on Sunday. The premiere episode features host Daniel Delaney visiting the Treats Truck (5th Ave & W 38th St) in New York City. Delaney says that he and the crew are about to travel to Philly and Boston to highlight street vendors there, followed by a trip to the West Coast. All in all, seems like a great way to focus the culinary spotlight on some much lesser known, but equally deserving, cooks. I nominate that guy on 21st and 5th for an episode…unfortunately his name escapes me. Just call him awesome falafel guy.
