As summer begins, we start to spend more and more time at the beach or poolside. For this reason, it’s crucial that we rock bathing suits we love to show off. Some are great investments, but in reality, do we really want to be spending over $100 on two small pieces of fabric that will be getting wet and soaked with chlorine or salt water? One of the entertainment industry's most beautiful couples have called it quits after two years of dating. Maroon 5 frontman & The Voice judge Adam Levine, 33, and 8-time Sports Illustrated and Victoria's Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna, 26, have split according to her rep confirming with People magazine.
Vyalitsyna released a statement: "Adam and I have decided to separate in an amicable and supportive manner. We still love and respect each other as friends. I wish him all the best."
Victoria's Secret knows that Spring Break is heating up coast-to-coast and everywhere in-between! Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with one of their newest faces, Elsa Hosk, to learn more about what's in store for Spring/Summer 2012. And if you haven't noticed, this season's collection is all about bright pops of neon, hints of lace, figure flattering designs, frayed denim shorts and much, much more!
Upon arriving at the Victoria's Secret showroom I was greeted by images of their hottest models; Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, and Elsa Hosk --just to name a few gorgeous faces! As I entered the room, racks were lined with the latest exciting Victoria's Secret fashions this season. I particularly loved the vibrant hoodies with variations of the 'Pink' logo. They're a great style staple that can be worn with everything from a casual black dress and sleek leggings, to alluring denim shorts. Meeting the blonde beauty, Elsa Hosk, was also a refreshing experience because she was very energetic, down- to- earth and quite knowledgeable regarding the latest VS looks.
The Victoria’s Secret Designer Collection marks the company’s first foray into the high-end lingerie market under the Victoria’s Secret brand, and now stands to compete against the likes of Agent Provocateur, La Perla, Cosabella and more. Previously, Victoria’s Secret has dipped their toes in the market so to speak, by featuring other high-end brands on their floors (and of course, who can forget their famous million dollar bras!), but as President and Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek states, the decision was made to “[bring] it in-house because we have a design team that has such passion for lingerie and they differentiate Victoria’s Secret from any other brand.” The line ranges from $38 for garters to about $300 for merry widows and other negligees.
When it comes to fashion extravaganzas, it doesn’t get bigger than the Victoria’s Secret annual fashion show in NYC. Last night, supermodels paraded down the runway at the Lexington Avenue Armory in some of the most ornate lingerie get-ups ever created. Think: mermaids, ballerinas, super heroes, and more. Though the show doesn’t air until Nov. 29th, we have a little preview of what’s to come. Below, see our five fave looks from this year's show.
Ahh Miranda Kerr. She had a baby last January, and still looks looks like a million bucks. Or, make that 2.5 mil., which is the price tag for the diamond-studded Fantasy Treasure bra she wore during the show’s finale.
Since when has Gisele Bündchen even been criticized for showing too much skin? The stunning supermodel is pretty much synonymous to the word "underwear" anyways. That would be like chiding Lea Michele for singing showtunes. It's their forte, people!
However, this little brush with controversy goes a little bit differently. Miss Bündchen is currently representing HOPE, a Brazilian lingerie company, as a spokesmodel in their ads. The premise of the commercials basically show the supermodel breaking bad news to an unseen husband, while wearing regular clothing. WRONG, it beeps. Take two: she confesses her faults to hubby again, only this time - she is donning her sexy undies. RIGHT, ding ding ding! The voiceover then suggests to women that by wearing their lingerie, along with "using Brazilian charm", it would be a better way to let their men down gently.
As everyone is gearing up for what will be another season of celebrating fashion, New York City leaders are pulling out all the big guns, and boast that this year will be "one to remember." Mayor Michael Bloomberg teamed up with a long list of celebrities, artists, designer retailers, and fashion icons to produce a series of events that will take place Thursday September 8th, 2011 [Note: Dates and Times may differ for some locations] throughout NYC between 6:00pm- 11:00pm.
According to the Official Web page for Fashion's Night Out, proceeds from Thursday night will go towards the New York AIDS Fund. For those of you on a budget here is some good news: The all-new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta will be providing a free cab service between Midtown Manhattan and Soho during 5:00pm-12:00am for shoppers who present proof of receipt from any of the participating registered Fashions Night Out retail locations.
With Swim 2012 Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week just a week away in Miami, it is almost impossible not to think of next year’s bikini season. Even though this summer is still young and our July 4th bikinis are fresh from the cleaners, swim 2012 designs are not to be ignored. Attention grabbing designs give an overall “Look at Me” vibe to these swimwear trends, so confidence is a key ingredient to pulling these off. One important piece of advice for this season and next; you don’t have to wear a string bikini to show off your sexy side.
