The internet has come a long way from dial-up, but recent news indicates we might be close to a leap to the future. Wi-fi as we know it right now means dropped connections every few hours and even spottier connections for anyone who’s using the internet on a college campus or public location. Whether it’s a daily internet fix or some important work, we’ve all looked a little ridiculous flailing our device around to catch a signal. 3G coverage is great, it’s more internet access than we’ve ever seen, and 4G is on its way, but for now there are a lot of people mourning over their tiny Wi-Fi icons, interrupted in the middle of some work or avoidance thereof.
Hey there all you burger enthusiasts! Get your buns ready because this upcoming fall Roy Liebenthal will be opening up his third Pop Burger in the Union Square area. But it's the added extras in this installment that will make this burger joint pop above the others.
Taking over the former space of King Antiques at University Place and 11th Street, this Pop Burger will be serving Liebenthal's coffee brand - Pop Roast - in addition to homemade pastries. "It will be like Pop Burger meets Starbucks," he says, of his latest installment.
Apple began taking preorders for its state-of-the-art iPad today. The morning began with a closed online store featuring a sticky note stating that the network server would be up in the coming hours and orders would be taken for the April 3, 2010 delivery of this sophisticated, cross-medium device.
Marketed as the conjunction between the ever-popular iPhone and Apple's widely used laptop computers, the ten inch tall device weighs less than two pounds and offers Wi-Fi and touch screen access. Prices begin at under $500 and move to just under $900 for the fully loaded model. With ten hours of consistent run-time, the iPad also hosts a full line of apps and accessories.
