WINE
Who doesn't like to enjoy some wine while getting a taste of what another country has to offer? On April 17th, The Wines of Argentina, Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and the Consulate General in New York will host the 3rd Annual World Malbec Day, celebrating the iconic wines from Argentina.
The worldwide celebration will have events happening throughout New York, London, Los Angeles, and other big cities. Events will include wine tastings, tango performances, and a Malbec crush. New York will be hosting an invitation-only gala and tasting at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which will have wine industry executives, experts, and aficionados in attendance.
For the true epicurean, there are few finer things in life than pairing good food, good music, and and good wine. In South Florida, we can add beautiful weather to that trinity. Starting tomorrow, February 21st, the B Ocean hotel’s B’stro on the Beach is partnering with the historic Bonnet House Museum & Gardens for their monthly Concerts Under the Stars on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Begin the evening with a selection of cheese, charcuterie and wine at B’stro while gazing upon the Atlantic Ocean only steps. Then stroll over to the historic Bonnet House for an outdoor concert on the veranda while enjoying complimentary wine, dessert, and coffee.
Tomorrow kicks off the start of what promises to be one of the most delicious, most fun dining deals in Miami. Chef Ralph Pagano of Alba in Sunny Isles Beach brings us WTF, an evening celebrating his passions of wine, travel, and food, hence the the acronym. For a mere $35 per person, diners can enjoy an unlimited tasting menu that takes diners on a culinary trip to Italy. Chef Pagano promises well-crafted pasta dishes, as well as fish and meat entrees. Additionally, for a $15 supplement, guests can savor unlimited pours of wine for as long as they eat.
With regular menu items that present such classic dishes as chicken parmesan, as well as more inventive ones like homemade pappardelle with duck confit, crispy shallots, and mushrooms in a marsala sauce, the offerings for Chef Pagano’s WTF are sure to delight. In addition to the limitless Italian fare and wine, Chef Pagano will also be offering his “The Vinny D Split” concept. At the end of the meal, diners choose a number from 1 to 100, and if that number is picked from the bingo tumbler, the entire meal is on the house.
We hope to see this become a weekly tradition!
WTF (Wine-Travel-Food) kicks off tomorrow, February 7th 2013, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Dinner is $35 per person, and unlimited wine is $15 per person.

Portugal, perhaps most famous for Port and Madeira and the ever useful cork, which comes from the native cork oak tree, is actually one of the oldest, most storied wine growing countries in the world. In recent years there has been a resurgence in interest in the still wines of Portugal and a concerted effort to increase public awareness of the quality wines this country produces. One of the most prestigious growing regions in Portugal is the Tejo region. This area takes its name from the river Tagus, which flows through the Ribetejo Province and provides the region with its diversity in terroir and climate. There has been a total overhaul of the business model in this region and no longer are producers trying to make vast quantities for export; they are, instead, focusing on better farming practices, smaller yields, and less intervention in the wine making process.

Drinking. Ah, drinking. All day. All night. You know what it does to you; how it makes you feel and act, however different from the recap your friends give. Conversations are better, and food is absolutely better. Health conscious drinkers may end the night with a series of drunken crunches, but why not take note of what you’re putting into your body instead of trying to make up for it with 3 or 4 lousy minutes of a painfully sobering workout?
Gizmodo’s certified nutritionist Maren Robinson took a look at the best and worse drinks for your health, while keeping in mind that any amount of alcohol consumption will have more or less the same effect on your night.
Ever sipped on some red wine and looked in the mirror an hour later, horrified at your creepy stained mouth? Kimberly Walker knows the feeling and that's why she created Wine Wipes, the perfect solution to wine-stained teeth.
Borracha Wine Wipes were created four years ago and now they have a sleek new look. Carefully concealed in a black 12 wipe compact, complete with mirror, this handy product is small enough to carry around in a pocket or purse. Kimberly worked with dentists and sommeliers to come up with the perfect combination of stain removing, teeth protecting, and flavors that don't compete with your wine.
