Emerald Lounge Reveals What's Behind the Curtain in Boston

The Boston Theater District has a new neighbor, and this one’s just moved in from over the rainbow.

The Emerald Lounge opened at the Revere Boston Common hotel recently, with a serious Wizard of Oz theme and an exciting cocktail menu.

Once inside, deep-six the eye rolling and cue the jaw dropping, because you many not believe you’re in Boston anymore.

10 Lost Legends Due for a Hologram Resurrection

With the eerily realistic resurrection of Tupac via hologram at Coachella this past weekend, we couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to see more of our favorite lost legends come back to life. What we'd pay to see them in the flesh (kinda) once more! This is an open letter to the Hologram Gods, here's a list of icons you need to get to work on next. Chop chop.

I Guess All the Other R & B Singers Were Busy

I guess Whitney Houston was still in rehab or something. Ashanti, the former Murder Inc. member and Grammy winner, has been chosen to play Dorothy in the soulful 70s adaptation of the Wizard of Oz ‘The Wiz’- which is loosely based on the classic but features an African American cast. The originally cast of the production featured the likes of notables such as Diana Ross and Lena Horne. And sadly, Ashanti definitely cannot fill those legendary shoes.

The show will be at the New York City Center this summer starting on June 12th and continuing until July 5th. So far, details of the rest of the cast have not been released. With Ashanti playing the lead, who knows who else will guest star. Let’s hope her acting is better than her singing. [billboard]
