Hot 97 has announced its Summer Jam 2012 lineup. Artists include Nicki Minaj, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross & Maybach Music, J. Cole, Meek, Mill, DJ Khaled, Big Sean, Trey Songz, Tyga, and many more!
Over the weekend, music superstars flocked to Las Vegas and showed us how they (aka the rich and fabulous) do the Strip.

After his sold-out show at The Pearl in the Palms, Jay-Z joined his wife Beyonce to celebrate the end of his tour and party into the morning. Joined by Young Jeezy (who was a special guest during Jay-Z's concert) and Larry Johnson of the Washington Redskins, the hip-hoptourage headed over to Tao in The Venetian. Co-owner Jason Strauss was excited to say that Tao's records were broken that night with 1,400 diners at the restaurant and 7,000 parties at the nightclub.
The first two days of Paris Fashion Week are the most important, no? And as much as we want to take off our Marc Jacobs sunglasses to make a very clear statement about how we're not impressed, we won't, because 2 out of these 5 designers definitely made an attempt to design for the future, and not yesterday's financially stressed buyers. Can you guess who?
Anne Valerie Hash: Initially we thought this may have been an experiment gone wrong. But, after careful reevaluation, we began to fall in love with Anne's (can we call you Anne?) weird and twisted fascination with transparent organza-like fabrications, short trousers over, uh, feggings (abnormal fabric leggings?) and overlay heaven. Also, weren't the silver pointed brogue-style flats just killer? This isn't our first time seeing them during fashion month. Can they please stay forever?
I guess it's safe to say that Jay-Z has a lot of friends in the hip-hop community. Cameos are no longer a shock when Jay-Z plays a sold out show at Madison Square Garden, but last night no one could have guessed who would stop by:
The world's most infamous criminal (well, not yet, because Lil Wayne's sentencing was postponed on the 2nd due to a serious fire in Manhattan's Criminal Court where three people were injured). This is the second postponement of Wayne's sentencing, the first was due to an "emergency dental surgery" where he had eight root canals performed.

Can’t decide whether you are a neon-wearing, Nike-polishing, flat-billing, “durty-Sout'” player or a Ray-Ban wearing, skinny-jean cramping, porno-stache sporting, experimental-indie hipster? Well, if you are on-the-ball enough to follow the unlikely quandary I just proposed, put down your “crackberry,” flick those stubby little fingers across your computer keyboard and head over to the Adult Swim website. In their music subcategory, you will find ATL RMX, a specially commissioned album by the Rockstar Games and Timbaland Beaterator music remix video game.
Even with his Mickey Mouse lyrical skills and goofy videos, Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy has managed to stay relevant. And even those in the toughest hip-hop circles can’t hate on the success of Crank That (Soulja Boy). I must admit that Kiss Me Through Phone is a pheromone-targeted misplaced hip-hop track that doesn’t do much for me, but at the same time, I can feel him on Turn My Swag On. Everyone has to turn their own swag on, and it feels so marvelous, exactly how he portrayed it in his video. In fact, the song became so popular; Keri Hilson did an underground version. So did Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Young Jeezy. And if they f*cks with Soulja Boy, I f*cks with Soulja Boy.
The University of Delaware recently cancelled a concert scheduled for today featuring rappers Young Jeezy and newcomer Drake because of the deadly Swine flu. At least 10 students on the campus are suspected to have the disease- which normally affects pigs and not humans. The University’s President Patrick Harker made the announcement yesterday.
“While the Centers for Disease Control have not yet confirmed any swine flu diagnoses, I have no doubt that these suspected cases are causing a great deal of concern among the entire campus community. The University's first priority is the health and well-being of our students and employees. Therefore, we are working closely with the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) to safeguard student, staff, and faculty health.”
In New York, there are a few things that mark the beginning of summer besides the obvious increase of degrees outside. Yesterday, NY based radio station Hot 97 announced their line up of artists scheduled to be performing this year at Summer Jam- an annual hip hop concert held at Giants stadium in New Jersey.
The concert, which is on June 7th, will be hosted by comedian and actor Tracy Morgan. As far as R & B artists, Mary J. Blige, T Pain, Pleasure P (lead singer from Pretty Ricky) and The Dream will sing their hearts out. Rappers Young Jeezy, Jadakiss, Juelz Santana and Jim Jones will also bless the stage. And last (but definitely not least) Mavado, Elephant Man and Serani will have the crowd dancing as they hold down the reggae portion of the evening. Of course, there will be more artists scheduled to perform, but the radio station likes to keep things under wraps until the concert is only days away.
